Update Jan 2, 2026
The Rising Cost of Adoption Fees

Our veterinary expenses have increased dramatically over the past year, with our primary veterinary partner raising surgical prices AGAIN this week. Because of these rising medical costs, we’ve had to adjust our adoption fees—something we truly hoped to avoid.

We do not use a flat adoption fee. Each dog’s fee reflects their age, veterinary costs, breed‑specific demand, and the amount of time they have been in our program. Spay and neuter costs also vary by size and age, which affects overall expenses. Some dogs who have been with us longer may have reduced fees to help them move into homes sooner so we can make space for incoming dogs who need rescue. Others may have higher fees due to increased veterinary expenses or higher demand for certain breeds. Please refer to each dog’s individual description for their adoption fee.

Unlike county funded organizations, we receive no public funding. We are all volunteers and do not get paid a salary.  Our rescue operates entirely on adoption fees and the generosity of donors. Donations, however, have been lower than usual, which makes it even harder to keep up with rising expenses.

Thank You for understanding....
